Although i have not yet actually got a Royal, my mum is swayign towards letting me! she is lookign at loads of pictures etc and reading up on them and she went to the reptile store near me to hold one (shame it got sold) but its all good !!! i can get a good size faun and heatmat and hides for £20 of a friend, is a mat stat a necesity in a faun aslong as i can keep the temperature ok? and am i right in thinking i wotn need a light in a faun and when he moves up to a viv he will want a ceramic bulb on a stat and a light rather than heatmat on stat and light? Yes a thermostat is a necessity, unless you can sit by the faun 24/7 constantly monitoring temps ;) Shouldn't need a light at all. Bulbs (ceramic or infra red) are generally better for vivs, i prefer to not use a mat in a viv, though others do sucessfully (there are, however legit reasons to NOT use a mat in a viv for older royals) anywho, good luck :) hope your mum caves in lol.
yeha i have a mat for my corn but i heard royals dont take in the heat through their stomachs and ok i will invest ina stat and my mum is crumbling :) only my sister to take to m side now
