hi people i got my first ever ball python today and have a problem already! arabella is 6 months old and when i went to pick her up, the lady told me that she had just started shedding. when i got home i set up her viv and she seems really happy, but i did notice that she has a dent in her eye. is this because she is shedding or is it because she is dehedrated? if it is the latter, should i just spray her and her viv with warm water as i have read or something else? i have read that you should give them a damp hide but she only has a little cave hide and i wouldnt really know what to do and i dont have any special moss or anything although i can go out and buy stuff if needs be. any help would be much appreiciated as im such a newbie! thanks again, sarah |

A dented eye is usually a sign of either a retained eye cap or dehydration.
Some people use moss hides and some like myself dont. I dont spray my vivs either. Just make sure she has a water bowl large enough for her to get in to and has fresh water every other day and she should be find. |

Damp hides are a breeze, have a gander here: http://www.theroyalpython.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1399
You dont have to use moss, if you can get some paper towels i normally dampen three of them and pop them in the bottom of the damp hide, changing them every 2days.
