Posted on the dark side: http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/snakes/404798-prepare-horrified.html

Shocking! I really cannot believe that there are people who dont use a thermostat!! Nor can I believe that there are a lot of shops who still dont tell people they need one...

Makes me feel sick :-(

That's horrifying! I'm a newbie, but even I know that a 'stat is an essential piece of kit. I hope the evil piece of **** who allowed that poor snake to get to that state gets what they deserve :(

I've been following that thread since it was first started and whilst the road to recovery is slow, the royal does seem to be gradually healing. Bloody terrible though... bad enough for it to happen once, but twice is BEYOND unacceptable. Thankfully the OP on the darkside has persuaded the previous owners to let her have it for good now. But that's not to say they won't go out and get some other poor creature and abuse that as well. If somebody had burned a kitten or a puppy I'm sure there would have been much more fuss kicked up with the authorites. How come people just don't give a **** about reptiles? It makes me feel really sad.
