Hi folks,
we bought our royal 4 weeks ago from a reputable dealer who we have previously bought a corn and a guyana pink toe taranatula from along with exo terra terraniums and all associated equipment. We have since been informed the royal was not part of the the dealers collection, but was sold by a member of staff as a cash sale.

The snake appeared to be in good health, but he has not eaten since we purchased him, and we had to assist in his shed last week by soaking him in a bath of water and rubbing his shed off for nearly 1 hour,he was placid thorought, but we are concered for his health as he was sold as a good feeder and had had no previous problems with shedding.

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

Regards

Colin

Any photos of your setup?

What temps have you got, how are these measured and maintained?

Are you handling him?

What food are you offering and how often?

How much does he weigh, has he lost any weight?

The last snake we acquired 4 weeks ago hasn't yet fed, all my previous acquisitions have fed first night but I weigh him once a week and he has barely lost any weight so I'll just wait until he is hungry, if he had been my first royal I'd probably be worried but as he is my fifth I am comfortable that there is nothing wrong and will be patient. Keep the temp right and the environment, check weights and keep handling down to a minimum and eventually if all else is well he will feed
