Hey guys my name is Darren and i'm from the woking area surrey, used to own a beautiful royal called 'missy' around 12 years ago but had to give her up as i moved into a house that didn't allow pets :( killed me!
Anyways just recently picked up a royal baby boy captive bred that we have called 'Tubs' short for 'Tubby Mousecatcher'
Have him in a starter tub/crate for now until he needs more room then i will be upgrading, have a heat mat with a habistat thermostat and temps are looking good :)
He's settled in well and is very active in the evenings and tolorates being handled for around 20/30 mins in the evenings really well but then he can probably smell my partners gerbils in the next room!
He's on fuzzies and after a week of him being with us i tried him on a feed although i was not expecting him to take it just with him being so active wanted to offer him a go, he struck constricted then let go and went to bed without eating! Left it in over night but had to flush it in the morning.
Not worried a bit as after reading posts here about how they can take a while to get feeding again after a move, will start to weigh him in a week or so if still no joy just to keep an eye on him but understand it could be the time of year or he could be coming up for a shed as we noticed he is looking a little milky around his head.
Anyway just wanted to say without this forum i would have been a little lost with all the little things i forgot to ask at shop i got him from, would have being ringing the shop everyday this week!
Great forum with people that really care and have that passion for our litle ball buddies, really glad i found you all and happy to be here :)

Hiya hun and welcome! in regards to feeding and handling, i would give him at least 2 consecutive feeds before handling, just to give him time to acclimatise to new surroundings and smells etc. Feel free to ask anythin on here, i've had loads of fab advice from everyone! Good luck!! :)

yeah may start to leave him in his tub and give him more time, if it wasn't for him being so active in the evenings and coming out when the lid is up might have not got him out at all, after all it is about him and not us wanting to handle him all the time :)

Hi welcome aboard, hope you kept some space. They'll be taking bets as to how long before you get another...

I did the smart move and got two, so I thought. Now we're deciding what Morph to get first lol.

Let him/her? feed a couple of times before handling a lot and you should have better luck, we've all been there mate.
