Hi got my first royal python he is a 2 year old male who has still got a little bit of skin to shed around his neck tried bathing him to help also picking it off but he does not liked to be touched round there at all is there any other ways to help him get rid of it.

Thanks

So long as his eyecaps have shed and the very tip of his tail then it's just a question of time, keep bathing him and raise the humidity in his enclosure a little for a few days, I assume you have a damp hide in there with him, if not then put one in and keep it moist, the skin should eventually come free.

Any suitably sized lidded plastic box - an old icecream box is brilliant. Cut a hole in the side, just large enough to admit the snake. I use an old knife stuck in a gas flame to cut plastic - it doesn't leave as sharp an edge.

Inside you can use damp kitchen towel, j cloth type stuff, a face flannel, or sphagnum moss, but this, in my experience, goes smelly. Replace the lid, job done.

some people replace the cool hide with the damp hide so that the snake uses it - some snakes are awkward little gits and won't. Still, it's in there and providing some humidity - keep checking it to make sure it doesn't dry out, by the way.

Another tip is to place the water bowl on or under the heat source once the snake's eyes have cleared from the blue - it is then that the snake can best utilise the extra humidity. (I realise you're dealing with stuck shed but this might help as well.)
