as some of you may know we've had what i think is an under weight male at 5 yrs old and weighing 700g about a month an a half now. feeding him every ten days to try an get his weight up a bit a loose some of his excess baggy skin. tonight was his fourth an fourth successfull feed with us an after defosting a rat placed him in his feeding faun, literally only just picked the rat up off the kitchen side, off the kitchen roll of cause. an before i had time to blink monty lept out his faun a good ft or so, one hell of an all mighty strike an took the rat straight out of my hands before i even had the chance to offer him it. made me jump an took my breath away to say the least. one hell of a hungry snake. he he sorry if your in the non feeding club not boasting or anything

can i just add that we normally defrost our rats inside a sandwhich bag left in a jug of hot water from the tap. on this occaision the bag had leaked an the rat was sopping wet. squeased as much water out as poss but have never had such a feeding response as quick as this. dont know if this makes any difference or just how monty likes them. just a thought....

Congrats - that's great!

LOL - I would have loved to see that on video - snake shooting out like a jackinabox - 'gimme that rat!'
