Hi all,
Today is the day i pick up Monty (not an original name i know lol). The viv i originally bought was a 36" Exo Terra all galss has been discarded after reading more info and ive now bought a 24" wood viv as Monty is still very small. The viv is all ready to go with the ambient temperature at 31.8 deg in basking area and 28.6 deg in cool area (is this about right?). Very excited as this is my first python.

Congrats and welcome home Monty! Picked up a new pine snake today myself - know how thrilled you'll be feeling.

Now for being up and down all evening checking and rechecking an apparently empty viv with snakey in hiding lol. Never mind, we know that they're there ...

lol...know what you mean just got him back about half hour ago and i keep jumping up and down checking him. Got him sexed so i know he's a guy. He's a real explorer climbing over his branches and plants, seems like he's happy :-)

Aw bless him - yes, some often do have a good explore when they arrive - even my pine snake has and I expected him just to go to earth as they're burrowers.

Yes, my royals spend nearly all their time in the cool end and I've read of other people saying the same of theirs, and your temps sound great so it's nothing to worry about.
