Hi guys,

I've been reading the forums for many months, so I've decided to register to have my own input.

My name is Stewy, I'm 24 and from Liverpool.

I have a lovely CB11 pastel female called Maizey. She has proved to be a handful to get to eat, but is showing more interest every week. I've had her for about 4 months or so. She was a non feeder when I got her, and was pretty skinny. After a month I decided to assist her, which she takes fine. She's putting on weight now, and is always exploring (although I don't handle her yet, I'm waiting until she is a more confident feeder)

I also have two corn snakes and have included a pic of them also.

Maizey

Ice and Blaze (no prizes for guessing which is which)

Thank You for looking,
Stewy

Hi and welcome, congrats on assisting Maizey - I had to assist my first royal, Shahi, and one of my corns, and they're tigers for their grub now (well, Shahi's on his second winter fast, which is normal, but he didn't half make up for lost time.) Maizey looks great and so do your corns.

Can I ask how many assists it took your's to begin feeding on its own? I've known some to eat after the first assist, and heard of others that have never eaten alone.

Hi, yes - here is a link -

http://www.theroyalpython.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6497&SearchTerms=confession

I think I've been lucky - but from what I've heard, as soon as they get the idea, they usually progress. Shahi is now on rats - he hit 1200g soon after his first birthday, and as for Shiloh, she's a strike feeder and growing fast, still can't believe it.

Good luck with Maizey's feeding.
