Hi my first post on forum although I have read about every post on here lol I haven't got a royal yet been tryin to persuade my gf for month to let me have one any1 got any good ideas to try and get her to change her mind? Needs to be good tho I have already booked a holiday thinkin it would work but even that didn't work. Help me lol
Ah ...take her to a sympathetic (and good) pet shop or breeder. Place a small and confidingly balled up royal in her hands. It will not seem like a long slithery 'creepy' SNAKE. Royal will peek out from between coils with that sweet puppydog face, flick tongue, and suggest making friends. Bambi could not compete. Job done lol.
ps you might have to wait for this as it's mating season and eggs and new hatchlings will be appearing in a while, but late cb11 royals are still on sale nevertheless.
My mate has got a pregnant royal said I can have one of babies for £30 which I think is a bargain. I already have two corn snakes so not like she aint used to seeing snakes lol just has it in her head that pythons are child eating monsters lol
LOL - my ex has always said that he fears that one day I'll disappear and he'll enter the house to see a hugely swollen snake etc etc ...
He's been saying this since the day I got 2 corn HATCHLINGS!!!! I mean, lol! Now though I think he's joking - he even visited some full size boas and burms with me the other week and was really interested.
If your missus meets a cute little royal I reckon she'll be won over.
i had this issue. i took her to the pet shop with me and she held one. show her a fully grown one too and it'll soon change her mind. i got her a kitten for xmas so she worries about the kitten being eaten but the guy in the pet shop said its impossible for a royal to eat something so big lol. saying that though.... the kitten keeps watching the snake move and when I'm not here in the day i leave my laptop on top of the snakes terrarium just incase. when i handle my snake i make sure the kitten is out of the room because the snake is scared of the kitten and i don't want to stress him out. she moans now and again but she will soon get use to him more! :)
Cool I even told her if she says I can have one it can be my next three birthday and christmas presents rolled in to one so she wouldn't have to spend a penny for next three years. Still won't budge tho lol
haha u must be desperate! i just take her moaning a couple of times a week. she text me while i was out the other day because he stuck at her head butting the side of the tank lol. she doesn't realise that sudden movement can scare him resulting in trying to defend himself. she's handled him twice now and i can tell she likes him deep down. keep pestering mate and every weekend take her to your local reptile shop and she will get sick of it and let you get one. worked for me haha
