Thank you, recently purchased a female royal, about 6 months old. Having issues getting temps up as sold the wrong setup, issues with the retailer, new setup on the way so should be sorted soon. Can't wait to say hello to my new little friend, but being patient.

I was sold a 24" terrarium, with a heat mat and stat. Can't get the air temp above 70f. Done the websites and spoke to another shop and worked out ( I think ) that I need a taller viv (vx36) with some sort of heat lamp. Soooo, going with a bigger viv than ideal with 3 hides and loads of cover and veg and decoration to keep her cosy nd comfortable |

it depends how old the snake is,How big etc etc.If he's still tiny then that setup would have been fine. You would only need to have the temp correct over the mat.
Then when he got bigger upgraded to a viv etc. |
