OH was coming around to the idea of breeding first generation and having two permanent snakes but I think she'll go Chenobyl if I go for 2nd generation.

I think I'll forget the idea of breeding royals and leave that to you guys.

Thanks for the diagrams and the explanation BE it's Mendelian but great to know which are the dominant genes in Royals

Just one point BE is there only one loci that determines colouration/markings or are ther many locations on the gene pair ?

There are many, hence the ability to get combinations of multiple genes.

I think your introduction above is a great and simple explanation and set me off doing some more research into morph outcomes, I only got my first royal 8 weeks ago and it has whet my appetite for breeding and decided it was time to learn more about the genotypes, thanks again and will post a thread of findings as soon as I feel I can contribute something uselful.
