I have a 5 month old royal. And someone asked me other day can I feed it a live mouse. Instead of dead.
What's the answer to this. Is it possible to do so or do I have to feed dead ones until he's older. |

Plus there is always the danger of the rat killing the snake or seriously harming it if it gets the chance so aint worth the risk |

live feeding is a grey area of the law but can be done if the snake is not eating an losing weight quickly.

I think the only time it is advisable to feed live is if the snake is starving to death and all other methods have been tried for a while and failed |

Its best to always feed frozen(thawed)rodents. If your snake accepts pre killed there is no reason to feed live.
In fact I believe its illegal to do so, unless not doing live feeds endangers the life of your snake. |
