I wouldn't be so sure. I think it's more that they really don't care either way, as a pose to not understanding. |

Posted - 20/11/2012 : 21:25:14 I hate this sort of thing. I've rescued beached sea snakes (highly toxic venom) before and it gives you such a feel good feeling to see them getting a second lease of life and knowing that you're responsible.
I may p*** people off with this comment but it does seem to be part of the 'dumb american' side of American culture that they really truly don't seem to realise that the animal is going through pain and suffering. It's not a cartoon, it's real and I bet if someone just sat they down and explained things to them they'd figure it out.
To be totally honest, I find this distressing but no where near as distressing as videos I've seen in China of the way they butcher domestic animals for fur and meat. If you didn't watch it till the end, a larger truck comes along and finally puts it out of its misery which I felt at least meant that its suffering was able to end. |

Posted - 16/11/2012 : 09:25:38 I think maybe we should have a warning about this video? It is a very upsetting thing to watch.
The video shows a Rattlesnake being ran over by a car and crushed. The snake is alive and consious, and continues to be alive and consious after the car runs over it. Don't know what happens after that, didn't watch any more. |

Posted - 15/11/2012 : 08:52:05 I would have tried my best to move it too. Even if it was with a very long stick. I would never have just left it there (I, and my family, have been known to stop traffic for other Animals in the past, to help them) I couldn't live with myself, it would haunt me forever...
I couldn't watch the whole thing. Too much : (
I belive it is a common thing in America for this sort of thing to happen. People just don't seem to have any empathy at all for other Animals. They think it's fun to watch and it would seem that getting the kids involved is even better to them... Watching that first few seconds of that video made me feel wrong inside, squirmy even. I can't help but imagine what that must have been like for the poor Snake... and nobody even caring. Clearly certain others out there don't feel emotion this way. Lets just hope the kids, at least, come to some sense and realize that that is wrong.
Mind you, I should add that it seems to happen an awful lot over here as well. |

Posted - 15/11/2012 : 08:04:30 What makes this all the more distressing is that it appears to be a family, a mother and a father, filming the snake, and their children are with them. The children are going to grow up thinking this kind of thing is ok - and that's NOT ok
Sicko family
I watched the whole thing. |

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 19:18:26 Another proud human moment. Nothing they could have done for a snake that could in theory have done them serious harm if they attempted to rescue it but to then stop and film it, laughing at it suffering(I watched all of 18 seconds before switching it off). Then the comments and the amount of views just makes me sad. |
