Posted - 14/11/2012 : 01:25:06 Hey guys! :)
As stated in my introduction, I am new to theworld of keeping royal pythons. And I currently do not own any. I will be looking to purchase my first one hopefully in the next few months.
Basically, I just wondered if anyone could offer some advice on which morph would be good to start off with? Ideally, I don't want to spend a HUGE amount on my first snake but if something catches my eye then somehow I think the budget will go out the window! I am looking at mainly having the snake as a pet but with the possibility of breeding in the future.
Something that I have seen a few times that really appeals is the Bumblebee.

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 16:24:58 Unfortunately I'm not looking to buy as I still live with my mum and she refuses to have a snake in her house :( bit as soon as I get my own place, a royal is gonna be my housewarming present to myself hehe. It's good to know that there are people breeding the morphs I like though, thank you! |

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 13:51:11 I know a family that have two home bred female bumblebees for £450. Beautiful little hatchlings they are too. Based near Spalding, Lincs if that's of any interest to you.

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 13:00:05 The shop I use near me is the biggest importer of royals in this country he gets them from the four main breeders in america can't remember all their names lol plus he breeds them himself and they are all great feeders never had a problem with any snake from there |

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 12:53:30 I got my little guy from a store (they breed most of their own) but he was an import from the Dutch show. And I must say they have been fantastic help.
Either way make sure the store or breeder has a good reputation and will give you support help if required |

Some shops breed their own stock, Its always worth asking the question.
Four of mine have come from retail outlets that breed their own |

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 12:15:03 Cheers guys. I completely agree. I've only been looking a short while and already I can see the budget stretching further and further haha.
Any idea roughly what a Bumblebee would cost? Just roughly as I'm aware different breeders charge different amounts. |

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 12:07:37 I know you mean Fezza. It's really bad when you see the amount of 0000's on the end of the figure!! |

Posted - 14/11/2012 : 10:50:43 Morphs are a personal preference kinda thing. It's all about what looks good in your opinion and what you can budget for.
The one thing I will guarantee. The more you look, the bigger your budget will become Day 1) "I really like the look of that pastel" Day 5) "A hidden gene woma, pastel, granite, fader, enchi for £20k? That's not half bad" |
