| hi every one i am picking up my royal python on wednesday can't wait i have finally persuaded my mum to let me have one after years of asking im really excited. any tips or worries that i shoul no would be really greatful. thanks ryzi |

heya and welcome
ideally leave the snake a whole week to settle in, only changing the water and checking it's still there. then try a feed and if s/he takes it leave a further 48 hours before handling for the first time |

| Hi Ryzi, welcome to the Forum. Our Royal didn't feed for nearly 4 weeks after moving in with us. If I'd do anthing different, it would have been to leave him alone for longer. But, he is doing absolutely fine now. Just keep your mum on your side! I'm a mum myself, and I love our Royal, even though I had no idea before my oldest son got me to agree, how much I would enjoy our beautiful Royal! |
