Good job,Keep him on the paper and the rub clean etc.Keep an eye on him then take him to the vets tomorrow asap.
Where abouts are you located? As you might to be close to someone on here, that can tell you a good vet near you. |

No sorry Hayden was in a big panic and didnt think at the time just tried to help the animal by cleaning it out and disinfecting rub befor seeking cause of problem and the rub is very tite fitting (lid and access hatches I can't even get my finger in to pull lid off most of time) but thanks for suggestion I.will investigate inot it more if ther is a weak spot on lid rub where escape may have been possible or to get stuck |

it looks like it got stuck to some sticky tape this happened to my first corn snake when i was 14 my vet wouldn't see him (there was no reptile vets i knew about and we didn't have the internet) but anyway they told me to put antiseptic cream on it twice a day and it healed very quickly he just went in to shed and shed 3 times in a row then he was back to normal apart from some scares he only died last year at 16 years of age so not bad for a corn snake |

Nah, he would have seen the skin still attached to the tape. |

hi guys the vet said he should be ok im un shure of medidcation that was given but didnt recive any for after care eg ointment cream ect as i had to drop him off as i had work and pick up in evening main priority i was told was keep cage disinfected and all should be well im pleased to say that he is very alert and still active and going into shead that is may main worry as im thinking the wound may cause a few problems if any one has had a problem like i have did u have shed problems ? i am going to revisit vet monday on my day off for check up :D |

Snakes will typically shed a few times to speed up the healing process, shouldn't cause any problems. I'm not sure if adding extra humidity will help or hinder though - all things the vet should have gone through with you really. |

All the vet said was keep tank disinfected keep an eye on health and wound for drastic changes offer food as normal and as he is going into shed keep a closer eye on him for retaining skin but nothing about shedding a few times or wether to increase humidity but I shall ask on monday when I revisit for check up I know I have seen a vet but I would like to get a antiseptic of some sort to enshure full recovery could anyone recommend personally a reptile specific.antiseptic/healing aid ? |

Thats what I thought my self but didn't recive anything so the vet clearly didnt feel the need for it but I wanted to get some from a personal point of view allso for any mouth rub if I encounter it
