I'm not sure I would - maybe on superficial wounds but not on something as serious as that.
Anyway, he is looking loads better which is awesome |

i still cant put a finger on what happend but from what i think he may have jammed himself under his hide as i had aspen down at the time and treatment wise ... at first i used a local vet who had minor understanding and gave antibiotics and some form of pain relife but then a freind of my had a relative who happens to be a reptile vet in austrailia who was in the contry for a month ( hard to belive i know i couldent belive my luck eyther ) well anyway he took a look asked what the animal has had ect and reccomended zoo med wound healing aid he did memtion tamodine aswell but he said to try the zoo med stuff first as it dosent seem to sting the animal as much and causes less stress and reccomended cleaning rub every 7-15 days and i have to say from a personel point of view after using it the zoo med stuff worked brilliant and comes at a small expence i know expence it irelivent because id pay any amount of money to enshure my animals wellbeing but i was suprised how well it worked for the price but yes i am more than happy that he has recoverd and kept a brillant temprement and feeding with no hezitation and thanks guys to every ones support when the accident took place appricate it :D and i allso have a new addition ;) his name is taz heas a two year old male normal at around 1100g as far as i know

Its great that the snake is showing good signs of recovery. I would be concerned that the cause is still unknown though as it could recur. There is no way on this earth that a hide (wooden or the ceramic ones) did that to him, they are not heavy or sharp enough to so cleanly and deeply cut away the skin like that. I've seen Duke moving around and the hide lifted up and moved with him like a tortoise's shell. Its not a burn, its not scale rot In my opinion that has been caused by something very sharp and it worries me that you have not been able to find what it was. |

the only otherthing i can thinkof it he my have jammed himself between rub and lid but i gess ill never know but on the up side im renewing the rub in a week or two toone of the monkfeild vivs as hes still only a juvanile and iv had a good look at the monkfeilds and there well worth the money inmy opinion safe good holders of humidity and heat and will last over the next few months or year depending on what size i decide on i do take my animals very seriously and was disgusted at my self for it happening as it was ovs an error on my part and still disgusted that i canot find the cause but im not going to dwell on mistakes just improve my methods and be thankful i still have him |
