Way to make a gal feel old! lol
The game of my childhood was the ever-addictive Pong:

Each were only ever played at friends' houses as we didn't have the cash to buy such luxuries as the Atari 2600. Thems were the days

| Lol how very retro Meadow. You must have at least dabbled with Sonic and Mario when it was the "new" thing. I remember being a very, very young child and sent to bed at my appropriate bedtime only to hear "Sega!" down the stairs and the music from Sonic start playing :( depressing times. |

The first time I got into Mario was when I was 19. I had a boyfriend at the time who was 17 and it was him who got me into Mario as his brother had a Nintendo.
A few years later I was married to someone who was obsessed with computer games, and he bought me a Nintendo with Mario Bros on it and I stuck with that even when he was going through the transition to Super Nintendo, Play Station and whatever else came out during the 90's.
We parted company and both moved to opposite sides of the world, and there ended my relationship with Mario
Remember I'm nearly twice your age so my childhood would have been vastly different to yours  I think I was about 10 years old before videos and microwaves came into our house, and we thought they were the height of luxury!
How times change!

| Hard to imagine videos being a luxury lol, although now I have a phone with me that can download videos, play games, go online, do everything - as a kid I wouldn't have imagined that was possible! My first phone was bigger than my hand and could only text and ring. |

Hope I'm not the only person that thought the Atari paddle tennis game was awesome.
Then of course came jet set Willy and jetpack on the spectrum.
Now when I try to play these newfangled games I get shot within 5 minutes. |
