Hi,
I wanna get a new baby, maybe an albino or Mojave. Been looking at all the nice pics on here and websites etc... I even scheduled a visit to the local reptile dealer to check out what's on show and prepared to come home with something.
However, I told my girlfriend yesterday that I was thinking of adding another Royal to my current collection (of one  ) and she flat out said "NO!"
The following exchange of words took place:
Me: "I'm getting another snake
Her: NO! You ain't moving in then!
Me: (silence)
Her: Seriously, if you get a snake you can't move in
Me: But I want one, I've done lots of planning. I have all the gear and the vivariums stack really nicely... they'll match the furniture
Her: NO!
Her (again): To be honest I don't even like your cats
Me: I don't think they like you... (Silence for about 4 minutes)... I'm getting one anyway
Her: I swear I'll *&@#ing punch you in a minute!
Me: I want one!
Me: I want one!
Me: Please let me get one!
Me: I'm gonna get one!
Me: Don't wanna live with you anyway!
Her: (Gave disgusted look, like I'd ripped out her heart and feed it to Redd)
End of conversation (I started watching The Big Bang Theory)
The thing is I need to persuade her. I actually think she's being serious. It's not like she dislikes Redd (my Royal), so I can't understand why she's so angry and against it.
Has anyone got any tips as to how I can persuade/convince her?

Interesting!
You have a few options, the first few are illegal in most places in the world so we'll skip right past those.
Firstly, Try to get her to explain why, just flat out saying "No" is rather disrespectful in my opinion, she can at least explain why.
Secondly, leave her, buy a python. |

I suppose it really comes down to how hot is your girlfriend. I mean on a scale of 1 to 10.
See a 1-3 I'd say its a no brainer, buy a snake its a risk worth taking.
4-7 is more of a gamble but I'd still get the snake and just buy her something shiny to keep her happy.
8-10 why would you want a snake. Their nocturnal and well you'll be busy during those hours.
See every problem can be solved by maths. |

lol, its the oposite in my house, im trying to persuade my man that i really need to get an albino burmese, he hasnt exactly said no but hasnt said yes either, i didnt think i would be the one wanting all the snakes but you just cant stop at one lol, they really do become like one of the family, im sure there has to be a comprimise there somewhere, or just do it..... thats what i would do, at the end of the day if she truely loves you then she wont break things off etc just because you have another snake, it aint like your planning on a 20ft burmese or retic lol, me on the other hand, that remains to be seen :) :) :) x

Wow! This is all very positive! Some not so positive!
In reply to how hot she is... Probably a 6/6.5.
I'm really working hard on getting her to believe I've always had two in mind...
You're right, a flat out no is rude. She doesn't see that. I just think next time she wants something, I'll deny her of it! Haha, that'll teach her!

Say you want to try breading so you need two, that worked for me, I know have 5 royals
To get my carpet python I said she would eat the left overs from the royals,
When im ready to get a rainbow boa, I'll say we the carpet python ain't Eating the left overs so its a no brainer,
I'm quite lucky I know what to say
