Just a quick one.
Loki is having a terrible shed, bits of skin everywhere. He has shed about two thirds of his body, head and first third remaining.
I've upped the humitity upto 70/80ish, damp flannel in on top of warm hide, larger water dish.
Now here is the question. What time frame should he take for a total shed before I should help him? As his shed is so messy and bad how can I tell he has done his eye caps? any thing to look out for?
Cheers Sean |

i would give him a bath now while the shed is still wet an gently roll the skin off.
with the eye caps you should be able to see if they are still on if not they will look a little cracked/dented after a while but if his head is still on then the eye caps are probably still there |

yep just luke warm water, have it deep enough to come up around 3/4 of his body.
if the head doesnt come off easy hold him just behind the head and gently work the shed off with a damp cotton bud.
i find working the shed loose from the corners of the mouth then working round to the nose works best for gettting it off of their heads.
or you can put him in a damp pillow case for 10-15 minutes after the bath and see if he gets it off by himself |
