Thanks to advice from this forum my cb11 is now in a 9l rub within his 3ft viv!
My next concern is that he has come with a 100w reflector white coloured lamp for his heat source; this is attached at the top of the back wall of three ft viv so that the top if the bulb faces the sliding glass doors. The bulb is controlled by a thermostat and seems to need to be on constantly to maintain temp.
I am worried this will stress him being on all the time. Its complicated by the position of the bulb making the top of the viv very warm - I am concerned to change bulb without advice on this! I have a guard on the way. Appreciate the help!

Probably be better to change the bulb for an infrared one on a dimming stat or a ceramic bulb on a pulse stat. The white light on constantly will probably stress him out.

Is it a light emitting bulb?If it was me,rather then using the bulbs that would heat a 3ft viv.To also heat a tiny rub within said viv,and keep the rubs temps correct to.

Id just buy a heatmat, stick the the rub where ever and heat it like that.

I would have the bulb pointing towards floor aswell as that is where the snake will spend its time

To me white bulb sounds rather like a ceramic bulb, which is fine. All depends what ambient temp at home you have, if its not too high heat mat may struggle and rather for sure it won't give correct temp gradient in your rub. When I started my story with Royals I had that problem and nothing worked fine because when hot end had right temp, cool end was too cold and vice versa. If temp in your room don't drop below 20c you should be fine with heat mat. If its below 20c I wouldn't spend money for a heat mat. Good luck

A rub is too small to have a heat gradient with a bulb!!! use a small heatmat on 1/3 of the rub with a thermostat set to 30 ;)
