Hey guys, posted this on the corn snake forum but nobody was able to help so I'll try here...

I have a question for those of you who own royal pythons...and it's unfortunately a poop question

Our LSP is approximately 16 weeks old now, and around 18 inches long. So...how big should her poops be?
She has been doing tiny little ones since we got her, barely worth the trouble. I didn't think much of it, they seemed about the same size as my baby corns ones. A couple of weeks ago we sort of became aware she hadn't gone for a while and she looked a bit bulgy. I put her in the bath but nothing happened. She still looked bulgy a few days later so I bathed her again and massaged her this time, and after expelling a hard white mass she did the biggest poop ever, I'm talking about the same size as my 4ft female corn. Obviously she's far wider and chunkier than my baby corns, so for all I know this is normal considering her size, but the white mass leads me to believe she was blocked up? Any input would be appreciated, she's our first royal so I'm just not sure what's normal for them yet.

completetly normal royal's don't go that often but when they do it's usually a huge smelly log

the white lump's are just the urates in their pee, corn's will pass the same stuff just in smaller lump's

Yeah, I figured the white stuff was just urates but it was a bit bigger than I expected from such a small snake o.O

I tend to have a gas mask available for poop cleaning.....our guys are on quite a schedule with their pooping so it makes it easy!
Our first royal did not seem to poop for the longest time..we did the same thing bathe him and kinda massage his body. He now goes after every feed. Correct me if i am wrong but as far as i am aware some royals can go for weeks without toileting. I think i would really start worrying about it if he did not go at least when he has a shed!

She just had a shed, and it was a terrible one unfortunately, despite a moist hide I had to spend ages trying to work it off her in a bath. But she pooped before the shed so I wasn't expecting another one. Guess we'll have to wait and see how she goes :) Thanks guys, puts my mind at ease a little lol

I rarely have to clean my Royal. Maybe 3 times a year but oh boy when he goes he really goes. I think he unscrews the end off him as something that thick shouldn't be coming out of the evident exit of a snake.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm still a little concerned about Lumpy o.O Since I posted this lumpy hadn't pooped again, so we put her in the bath and massaged her again. Again she expelled the hard white urates but only after a lot of massaging, and after a *lot* of straining she pooped. She also expelled quite a bit of light brown liquid after the urates were out. This time it was far wider and very hard, it clunked when it dropped and it fell into water o.O Here's a pic if it helps, it doesn't look like anything my other snakes are doing. She's on a small mouse once a week. Now that she's pooped, she's active and exploring, she's been miserable for weeks. Any ideas? Can I do anything to help her other than bathing her?
