So we've had Monty for coming up to 4 weeks now.

When we collected him he had just fed. So Next feed was a week later and he took it no problem. Same for the next 2

In between the last 2 feeds he shed which was messy. All but that last bit just above the tail (around the spurs).

However in this time until shedding about a week ago he had not passed any poo. Helping get the shed off seemed to help as he had quite a mahoosive one.

Any way onto the question.

Should he be going regularly (That's what I'm used to with Corns) or like all things RP is it when he feels like it, if he feels like it. Can they go a long time.

We were quite surprised at how much smaller his tail area became after this evacuation.

One thing that I have noted was that I weighed him 2 weeks before and then after the poo and as expected I guess he had lost about 15g.

This is quite normal, it took me by surprise at first too, Bismuth seems to hold onto his for several feeds in a row and then get rid of it all at once normally after a shed so don't worry.

My adult Royal goes to the toilet 3-4 times a year and they're whoppers. Like a Great Dane has snuck in and popped in the cage. It's perfectly 'normal' for them to hold a very long time. If the body before the vent looks chunky and full it's probably on it's way soon. Only worry if the vent appears to be bulging as that could be an indication of impaction.
