As above, sounds like whoever you bought from doesn't really know what they're on about.

Welcome to the forum and hopefully you'll get better advice here

hey and welcome
dont worry about them biting you for the first year..thats rubbish! iv only been bitten once by one of my royals and that was because he was blue and i had woken him up by accident when changing the water..it was 4.30am and the first night he had been at mine so he was forgiven

edited to also add...

Sherman has never bitten me in over a year. With the exception of the ASBO corn that I took in, calmed down and then rehomed only my Dumeril's boa has been remotely aggresive. That was down to diet. Upped his feeding frequency/amount and he's fine now.

Another thing that can cause an aggresive response is the way that you approach them when attempting to get them out. Grabbing from above mimics the way that their natural predators would attack them. Try approaching from the side and scoop it up. As for what you were told by the breeder I'm gonna have to agree with the others. It was a load of bollo cra shi rubbish .

EDIT: Hello and welcome too

Hi and welcome and as above it would be highly unusual for them to bite I have never been bitten by any snake I have owned and especially not by a Royal, Paul is right though never approach from above unless you have had tham for a long while and they have built up a trust in you, enjoy your new baby :)

hi and welcome to the forum. if she does ever bit at that size you would barely notice. but as all have said the info you were given by the person you bought her from is a load of !!!!. Royals are normal dolice and quiet. there other name is Ball python because their defense is to curl up in a tight ball. they would normal hide before bite. good luck and enjoy and look forward to seeing some pics when she ha had time to settle into her new home.
