Ok so my royal pooed about 2 weeks ago, had a feed since and has pooed again tonight! So I took him out and noticed the newspaper was soaked! (had him on paper cos I ran out of chippings!) not sure how he has mananged that as it was fine when I went out at 5.

Well I gave the viv a quick spray and wipe out then put fresh paper down. While changing his water I had him round my arm ( he does it alot) I noticed a wheezing noise. So im now wondering if this could be an RI?? He is active enough and there is no gaping ot mucas ect. I have upped the temps a few degrees for now.

The other issue I have is his bark hide. it was what he had when I got him an was his only hide. It does not matter what end of the viv I put it, He will not go in the oppasite hide. So I have also moved this to the warm end! While he has the wheeze I dont want to take it out and replace it and cause him any extra stress at the moment.

In 2 weeks time we are moving, Snakes are gonna be the first thing to move and will be put well out the way, but will this make him any worse?

Oh and the 2 corns are ontop of his viv in rubs and the gecko over the other side of the room in a viv, are they at any risk, should I move them? At the moment I dont have anywhere I can really put them eveywhere is stacked with flat packed furniture and boxes

Help! LOL

I'm sure the newspaper soaking was just urine.

Keep an eye on the wheeze, it may just have been a one off.

Can you buy another hide the same? - Or, as you said, when you're sure he's settled and health ok, remove it and replace with 2 identical hides.

Good luck.

The whole bottom of a 3 x 15 was soaked!!! Can that really be urine? I have beach chippings now, If urine is gonna do that on paper, I will put the chippings back in!!

What about the pooing? I did not think they pooed that often? Or have I mis read somewhere?

It does still sound like urine.

When my python wee's, it'll either be half the viv or the whole of it. You have to remember also that paper will soak up, and the urine might have been spread more widely because of that.

I would avoid chippings as this'll make it harder for you to clean. At least with paper you can remove-whipe-replace. easy peasy. And also you'll notice wee on paper more than chippings which is why it's better- it's always best to clean it up asap. Leaving number 1's & 2's there to dry/fester won't do the snake any good.

If the wheeze is really bothering you then maybe take him to the vets just to get checked. Sounds as though he's happy enough though, just keep an eye on it.

Good point about the chippings, Ill stick to paper.
The wheeze is not really botering me, What was is that if it is the start of and RI we are moving in 2 weeks and did not want to make it worse via the stress.
Ill keep my eye on him and should he get any worse,I will get him booked in at a vet, even if it means paying more, get them to keep him in till he is better to reduce the stress of being ill and moving! (Im to kind hearted lol)

I have a yearling royal that pooed twice in two days a few weeks ago but she normally goes 4 - 6 weeks, I think you will have problems feeding for a few weeks after you move but keep them stress free and they will eventually settle down, hope the move goes well for you

The day I rescued him, I offered a feed that night and he took it! So I know he is not a stressy one! Hopefully he will be ok. They are being moved in my car before anyone turns up (only moving a few streets along!) and then going up in the back bedroom, where they will then be left for a week! I will feed a good few days before we move anyway just in case!
