LOL - those are great! Huey ...

I believe the name 'Ka' with one 'a' is Egyptian for 'soul'- Kaa or Ka very appropriate for a royal. Nice.

And as for 'Nora Batty' - I think that must be the superb name of the century! That is brilliant!

My corn snake Spot had 2 names lined up, either Apollo because of the rocket shape on his head or marmite (reserved for the MBK now) but when I picked him up and went to pop him in the vivarium I said 'there you go Spot' and it just stuck instantly, Its odd, he isn't Spotty really. As for Duke, he is a Royal Python, everyone has the Python puns taken care of so I concentrated on the Royal bit, he looks too tough to be a Queenie so going down the Royal family in order The Duke of Edinburgh was next, hence Duke. Just hoping he doesn't turn into a bumbling crazy racist snake now. LOL.

There're other dukes - Duke Ellington for instance ... funky!

I like 'Spot' - that's how my Spider got her name - it just came to mind as I was putting her into her viv. She's an anery like Spot, lovely little guy, do like anerys!

Your gonna think im odd but i have synesthesia so i went for a name which was the same colours as the royal markings...Florence!

Next one will probably be Cybele, she was a godess associated with snakes but a little on the dark side! mens genitalia were sacrificed in her name!

I have 2 Alaunts (dogs) Willow (she loves water is agile and gracefull like the tree) and Brochan her son who is huge, name Broch from the nordic and celtic meaning stronghold or fortress. So translation: 'of the stronghold'

Husband Tom, worst behaved animal in the house!

LOL - husbands always are. And impossible to housetrain!

I never knew Cybele was associated with snakes ... ah, hang on, is there a link with the Sibyls? The Pythonesses? Must google it.

Gorgeous names.

ps Wow! Talk about learning something every day. I'd never heard of synesthesia, have just googled it. Er, that's what I do. For instance, the days of the week all have different colours and letters and words all have different personalities so that I have like an automatic spellcheck in my head ...I thought it was just due to a stern '50s primary school.

Personal question, I know, but how has this affected you? (You don't have to answer if you don't want!)

Wow, that's amazing! Umm well, Lilith for me is a sort of smoky coiling shape ...oh no, not navy blue, it was my school uniform colour, I don't do navy lol! But yes, 'Florence' to me is black and gold and sort of scalloped, lacy, very dark and mysterious ... This is fascinating!

Ha ha! I hate navy blue for the same reasons! There has been a couple of tv docs on synesthesia over the years, turns out a few famous people have it too, including one of the great composers. Not bad company to be in!

I wonder how snakes see colour? if red light is percieved as dusk, how about the rest of the spectrum......off to ponder and google!
