Sorry, had forgotten I'd put that graph up.
Yes he's light, doesn't weigh much more than a new hatchling, but that's unsurprising if he will only take pinkies, he's not going to gain much with them as he will use all the energy up. Once you get him eating properly he'll shoot up. As long as he isn't losing weight. |

Hey Misscat, repetition is fine, and if you need to post again...just do it, the people on here are so nice and kept me sane when my royal had an RI...is better for you and your snake... |

how is he today? You wont be able to use the matstat with the ceramic, the Habistat pulse proportional is good. I got mine for £33 on ebay, but you can probably get it cheaper. |

yea i know, am on a mad hunt for a reasonably priced one :s going to get a matstat anyway cos i could do with one for my tarantulas, when i move Ra into the new viv and put in the ceramic heat bulb i am going to shift the tarantuala tanks into the big tank then i can heat them more efficiently as well. He seems about the same today as yesterday really, still shedding in places which is why i was hoping to grab the shed aid today, but i've had to order it online instead :(

ARGH! what wattage?!?! LOL i just realised that the wattage of a ceramic bulb needed depends on the size viv im trying to heat, and the destructions( ) only give it in litres! i dont know the lites! it's a 2ft bog standard beech, glass fronted viv, any ideas? |

oh good ^_^ i've been looking at some piccies of royals, before, during and after shedding and i reckon Ra does have retained eyecaps after all, do you reckon i should have a go with a wet cotton bud now or should i wait and try the ShedAid first? |

oooh and i have just seen the pic of nyo in the bath too... (http://www.theroyalpython.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=382) is that something that most people do? would that be a good idea for me to give Ra a blast in the bath? if so: 1: how much water? 2:how warm? 3:how long should he be in there? 4:how likely is it that he will drown? |

It can help with a bad shed.
Water the depth of the snake
The temperature of the hot end of the viv (~32C)
20-30 mins, then allow to run through a towel or flannel.
Not likely, but he may escape down an overflow if you're not careful! |

Some snakes will take to it, others will get stressed out => Non-feeding Royal! |

we are all glad to help...
100w is plenty for a 2 foot viv i would say. wants its upto temp you will find it will be running at a fraction of that anyway because of the stat.
let it run for an hour or so when you first switch it on cos they do smell a bit at first. just burning the dust etc off... |
