Hope everyone had a good weekend. Think I am over my fears now.

Went away to the OH's for the weekend, gonna start calling it reptile city up there. The OH had a bit of a falling out with Ron the cornsnake.

Ron like all cornsnakes is a wirey character, he doesnt stay still and loves a good nose about. OH left him on the floor and took his eyes off him...poor Ron made a beeline for the artificial gas fire in the fireplace and was gone. He was stuck and after taking all the exposed screws out there was no way to get to him, just a small piece of tail hanging down. Sorry Ron, *yanks on the tail* and thank god he was in shed and had the sense to let go of whatever he was holding no to. He got him out, some of his scales were a bit scraped but he was fine and just as curious as when he went up. Rons the snappier cornsnake of our pair and Ive never picked him up before because he does look like hes going to bite. I felt so sorry for him I got him out and he sat round my neck for a good hour and we talked about not running off and scaring everybody...

I put Ron back and the beast Lucifer was sticking his head out looking at me, Lucy is the sumatran blood python he got just after new year. No hesitation, went straight in and got him out as well, was quite chuffed with myself. Sat with him on my lap as the OH got up and was very surprised that I had his boy out with a "your a bit brave"!

I think the blood pythons got a bad rep, everyone says their the more aggressive of the python family and when we bought said python the shop rep said this snake had bitten him 4 times yet we've not been bitten once, damn snake wont even strike for his food.

So it was a wicked snakey weekend, couldnt wait to get home and see my own, Mister looks deflated after a week digesting jumbo mouse and his eyes are blue. Carly had left me a present in the glass runners and im left thinking "how to you get your butt onto the runners to do that" truly magnificent creatures :)

That's great to hear Carly, always warming to hear positive snakey news Monday morning

Poor Ron, I hate it when they squeeze in tight spaces..mine do that and you its almost impossible to get them back out..we had to dismantle the sofa cushions a couple of times lol

I guess Carly got payback for leaving her for the weekend to handle other snakes lol bet she felt rather pleased with herself

Glad you are over your fears, and I had a fabulous weekend with my lot. Slinky is blue but still as cuddly as always..and Fea, well he is just adorable lol

Lol - snakes!!! Why do we keep them eh?

That is just downright typical of a corn and I hope none of mine read this thread, as even they have never managed to get it in the door runners ...yet!

Naughty Ron! Glad you got him back okay. Missy did exactly the same to me the other day, only she jumped off my shoulder and down between the bed and the wall. Loads of clutter under the bed, no carpet so although she's a big girl now there was the danger of her shooting down a crack in the floorboards. After a frantic few minutes I found her underneath a blanket box and hauled her out, covered in dust bunnies ...corns!

Glad you've overcome your fear, and Lucy sounds to be happy with you and your OH.

Sounds like you've had a good weekend!
