I got Juju his first small weiner rat yesterday. Id previously been feeding him on large mice, but knew I was going to have to make the change as soon as possible. I was terrified he wouldnt take it after reading all the "HORROR" stories lol. I warmed the rat up with a hair dryer and dangled it in front of him. He normally goes straight for a mouse, but I could tell he was confused. He stared at it for about a minute with a "thats not a mouse" look on his face. I was getting worried, but just then he must have thought "we'll give it a go" and struck at the rat. After 15mins of playing (constricting), he ate the rat no bother. I was dead excited!!

Apologies for the essay, Im just so happy he took his first rat

...and yes, as Mark has said, congRATs lol!

So glad he made the changeover - many of them do, but I too have seen that look - 'what's this you've brought me?' Good lad for eating his first rat!

Yep, so happy. When I got a royal I prepared myself for all these feeding/shedding problems, but so far so good!
