Well as of tomorrow there will be two new members of the family, Me and the missus went to the pet shop today to spend more money on Kane!! And she happened upon two 8 month corns, 1 snow and 1 butter, and fell in love so yours truly has gotta go buy them for her tomorrow! Even though she told me im not allowed another royal yet!
But im determined i will get my royal if its the last thing i do! Lol  |

| haha good on you, corns are brilliant little wrigglers. They are almost the perfect snake if it wasn't for the stinky weekly deposits, sometimes twice a week if they are feeling generous. |

They're zippy as youngsters - you have to keep your wits about you, but they'll enjoy winding themselves through your fingers and climbing (big adventure this) up to your shoulder. You soon get used to their smallness. However, as Bob has said, they love to share the contents of their stinky little cloacas with you, and it's as well to wait until after they've made a mess before you handle - but beware of the spare tank ... |

LOL - you might think from the volume of mess that they've emptied themselves for the week - but a corn always has another load up its sleeve, or rather its tail - and it will happily crap on you. It's a corn's chief ambition in life. They slow down as they get bigger, but I never trust them entirely ...they are most beautiful creatures though, don't let me put you off, and they just go on getting more beautiful as they get older; their colours lighten and brighten; your snow will lose that pinkness and become pale gold and ivory for instance. And a 5' corn really is an imposing snake, very nice indeed. I'm taking some pics of Sulah today - I'll get Saffron out first and get a pic or two of her to show you an adult butter, and she's so placid and gentle; they grow out of the zippiness. |

This is Saffy at 4 this year, I think -
and this is Missy, a snow stripe,who is 2. Not as big as Saffy yet, but she's got the adult snow colouration -
As you can see, there's quite a difference in colouring between hatchling and adult.
Now for the bad news.
Know how I said that they get better mannered as they get older?
Saffy seemed so docile and pleased to be out that I let her stay on the bed for a while, and she ambled about and then curled up next to me ...ahh how sweet - until a complete *hitload hit, not the fan, but the quilt, and me. I was soaked to the skin, and the quilt was decorated by what looked like half a pint of cat diarrohea ....
Saffy lowered her tail complacently and watched me leap into the air and grab the kitchen roll ...Ooo Lil, look what I did! As always she was very interested in my frantic mopping up (corns like to help you by the way.) And very proud of herself ...Learned a new word, too.
Never trust a corn ... |

LOL - when I went in to collect Missy for her photoshoot, she said - what you got for me! And nipped me lol. Well, it's her feeding day tomorrow, she was only doing what comes naturally to a hungry snake. I did buy her with an 'attitude problem' and when she came she was like a wild thing, but she never bit me, and she's pretty placid now. The corn bites I have had have been nothing, and mostly feeding response bites. I reckon your little one was either a bit unsettled or expecting food - and they can get a bit bolshy as 'teens' but then they calm down again.
Yes - got some pics of my carpet up on the 'off royal' section, 'other pythons' section. Not very good though I'm afraid as she was wriggling about. Put the latest ones up this afternoon. |

| The butter disappeared into the bedding straight away and the snow is patrolling the viv and is the one that tried to bite, it looked more like a headbutt though. |

LOL - my ex always claimed to be snake phobic and said he'd be too scared to live under the same roof as a snake ...now he's really interested in them, despite making silly jokes about them eating me ...lol ...not.
But after seeing Buffy squirt all over my lap when I brought her out to meet him, I don't think he's afraid of snakes any more - but he's sure as hell scared of getting crapped on! |
