fair enough i suppose everybody has their own preffered set-up i may try and set up a viv like how you have explained to see how my snake fairs with it thanks for the info.

Yes, I didnt think of that. Im currently leaving a lamp on in my room 4pm-9pm to keep the daylight constant.

But from an aesthetic view, I dont bother.

sorry there was one on the darkside which had pics of a snakes belly burnt due to no attention to the heat mat. my heat mat 90% of the time doesnt even feel like its on

that's because your stat and mat should be set at less than human body temperature.........

only when my room feels cold the mat feels warm thats probably down to me being cold. the man who i bought my snake off ha an un-thermostated mat on in the viv i brought it all home and put a thermometer on it and it was running at 150f. GP thats a good point you made
